Visegrad Fund

The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia
through Visegrad Grants from International Visegrad Fund.
The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.

Communities Friendly to Children
and Young People

Our project aims at strengthening the position of children and young people (C&YP) as citizens of their local communities, supporting their rights and promoting their participation in local issues that affect their lives. At the same time, it aims at bringing local actors – public authorities, civil society and C&YP themselves to one table to set the cooperation in order to increase the quality of life of C&YP. In our project, we work with local communities and actors to boost the necessary change. The good examples and initiatives exist in our region and we would like to build on them to improve the situation and increase the quality of life of C&YP and their participation.

With this project:

  • We want to show that C&YP have relevant opinions about what should be done to improve their lives in the local communities and therefore we will hold local consultations with them, the results of which will be promoted publicly.
  • We want to show that cooperation at the local level is possible and we want to bring together the representative of C&YP, civil society, and public authorities during the local workshops to discuss how they can proceed together to meet the needs of their C&YP.
  • With the international aspect of the conference, we want to motivate the involved communities and actors to work towards common goals with the message that they are not alone in their efforts, they can learn from each other and exchange good practices.
  • We want to encourage the participation of the V4+ region’s local communities in building communities friendly to C&YP by promoting the results of this project and 2 examples of good practices from every participating country in a common publication. It should send a strong message that it is possible, provide guidelines for the work and inspire by including various success stories from the countries and the V4+ region.
